How much does the telemedicine consult cost and how do I pay?

Consults start at $29. Price will be confirmed during consult. 

An invoice will be sent via text or emailed to you:

  •  after your phone/video consultation with the doctor

 

 

The invoice must be paid before a prescription will be sent to the pharmacy.

  

 

1981MD provides direct care to its patients which means that we do not bill insurance companies. We are considered to be an out-of-network provider. 

We can also give you a superbill for your records, if you want to file for possible reimbursement with your insurance company. Not all insurance plans allow for reimbursement. When looking at your insurance card, if you see 'POS', 'PPO' or 'Out of Network' then you may be eligible for reimbursement. If you see 'HMO', 'Medicare' or 'Medicaid' then reimbursement is not likely.

What does the visit include?

(1) Initial telemedicine visit and/or office visit

(2) 15-30 days of follow-up, as needed, for your medical condition at no extra cost

How much will my prescriptions cost at the pharmacy?

The cost of your prescriptions are determined by your insurance company. The price may differ for each individual according to their plan. We do not have access to that information. 

 

Please visit your medical insurance website and log into your account to look up your drug plan and cost of medications. We will always prescribe the generic version of a medication to help lower the cost regardless of your insurance status unless you ask us not to.

Visit goodrx.com for free discount coupons on medications. You can consider Amazon Pharmacy, CostPlusDrugs or HoneybeeHealth to have your medications mailed to your home.

Are you accepting new patients / Do you accept my insurance ?

We are accepting new patients. 1981MD is a 'direct care' practice, meaning we deal directly with the patient and not the insurance company. We do not accept insurance payments.

The process of being able to accept insurance is lengthy and takes at least 3-4 months. At this time we are not accepting insurance payments.
